Canyon's 2024 Member Challenge

The 2024 Theme is CUT IT UP!

Each year Canyon holds a member challenge where members create one-of-a kind quilts that uniquely express the maker’s interpretation of the challenge theme. The evening is a fun-filled event complete with a potluck dinner and voting for your favorite quilt. This is, of course, followed by prizes! Next there’s a silent auction. The evening includes lots of mingling and socializing.

The annual reveal is held at the November Guild meeting.

2024 Challenge Fabric

Use One or Both of These Fabrics In Your Challenge Quilt!

2024 Challenge Fabric

Our 2024 member’s Challenge gives you more freedom than ever before to make what you want . But there are two rules:

  1. You cannot enter a whole cloth quilt. Something in the quilt needs to be cut up.
  2. Use the challenge-provided fabric in at least 20% of your quilt. There are two color-ways to choose from; you can use one or both.

Whether it is cutting the fabric in ways that we are all familiar with, improvisational cutting and quilting, or something else entirely, it’s up to you.

We would like to encourage you to use the theme to cut something up that you don’t usually do. Take a leap…Cut up that precious piece of fabric you have been saving for years; cut up a previously pieced quilt that doesn’t quite work; cut up fabrics that are outside your comfort zone in theme, color combinations or scale of print AND combine it with one of the colorways of the Guild-provided fabric.
