Lecture September 21, 2026 Guild Meeting: Crazy About Collage
Susy Nash is a certified Laura Heine instructor. She will showcase and share her Laura Heine collage quilts plus some of her own collage creations.
- Hybrid meeting with speaker in person

Workshop (Zoom) Saturday, September 19, 2026: Wonky & Curvy Cosmo
Liberated slash ‘n sew strips come together in a traditional drunkard’s path block to form the gorgeous, strippy, 22” diameter Cosmos circle. This workshop is perfect for beginning or advanced students to learn fun, easy, and wonky strip piecing. During this wonky & curvy workshop, you’ll start conquering your fear of sewing curves with Linda’s easy tips and tricks. Do all of this while making this artsy, improvisational Cosmos block.
One week prior to class, each registered student will receive a PDF version of the Cosmos pattern, which also includes the paper templates to make the quadrant and L-shape patterns.

Workshop Sunday, October 18, 2026: Collaging the Laura Heine Way
Susy Nash is a Laura Heine Advanced Certified Instructor. Laura Heine taught Susy her collage techniques, along with the supplies Laura uses. Susy endorses and shares the secrets of making a successful collage quilt the Laura Heine way! Suzy will create her own kits for us, provide the chosen pattern, and offer this class using Laura Heine’s collage methods.
- In-person workshop: 10am to 3pm PT (includes set-up and clean-up)
- Location: Cathy Hopper Friendship Center, 4425 Bannock Ave, SD 92117
- (Required) Kit: $50, includes Laura Heine’s Teeny Tiny Pincushion collage pattern ($30.00 value), plus a selection of partially prepped fabrics for students to use to get started on the Laura Heine Teeny Tiny Pincushion collage project
- While attending the workshop, pay the kit fee directly to the instructor. Susy accepts cash or check (payable to Susy Nash)

Susy’s workshop is only open to Canyon members at this time.
Although this workshop is a ways off, it’s a good time to sign up and reserve yourself a place.
Collaging the Laura Heine Way Day 2 (Finish!)
This workshop is designed for participants of the Susy Nash class on Saturday, October 17, 2026 (it’s sold out!), who wish to add a second session and continue working on their project with the assistance of Susy Nash.
This session is from 10am to 3pm PT on Sunday, October 18, 2026.
You must be enrolled in the Saturday class to sign up for this session.
